We’ve broken out into affinity groups and/or issue clusters to discuss this working plan for Monday morning. #S17 http://t.co/az0eu2xu

In our affinity groups – small groups of trust based on common goals or principles + deep knowledge – we are discussing our needs for #S17.

Christina: “That’s 15 minutes; if your spoke can come back to the middle and sit down in a circle, we can hear what you talked about.” #S17

[As you can see from the map I uploaded, we start at 7AM in different places depending on zone. Actions proceed from there.] #OWS #S17

CT BUTLER CONSENSUS WORKSHOP

Posted by & filed under Future Proposals.

Now that the spending freeze has been removed, we would like to conduct a straw poll to see if offering CT Butlers full course on Values Based Consensus is something that will help our community work together better.

If the straw poll is positive we would like to ask for consensus on paying $3000 for the course + $200 for recording it. And offering it to occupiers who are interested in operating by consensus.”

MINUTES 9/1/12

Location: Liberty Square

Time: 7 pm

Full facilitation team was in place, plus livestreamer and minutes taker

AGENDA

Working Group reportbacks

Establishing of Quorum for holding #NYCGA. Tabled.

End the #NYCGA spending freeze.
Three friendly amendments were accepted:

1) The NYCGA cannot hear financial proposals unless a member of Accounting is present and the current balance of the general fund has been presented. The NYCGA will not spend more than 20% of its total balance on any given night.

2) Non-consensus means of obtaining funds will not be honored – funds are accessible through prior consented budgets, the General Assembly, or the Spokes Council, only.

3) These protocols do not affect how the bail fund and general fund interacts (i.e., if the bail fund is emptied, the general fund becomes a backup bail fund – and no consensus is required to make a withdrawal, nor does the 20% restriction apply).

Consensus reached.

Wandering NYC Zuccottis DNC Rescue

Posted by & filed under Past Proposals.

Brothers and Sisters, we have forty Occupiers from NYC who are stuck in Charolette, NC. They have been in Charolette helping to define the protests against the DNC. Their impact has been instrumental in bringing massive media attention to the protests and to Occupy in general, and in helping to remind the world that Occupy Wall Street is very much alive and fighting against the Corporate takeover of our government and those within it on both sides who ostensibly are there to represent us.
They are figuring out sleeping accomodations for tonight and tomorrow, as the permit for Marshall Park, where the DNC encampnet was based, runs out today. Charolette has banned camping in the city, so it might be a challenge to look for sleeping accomodations for forty people, but we can have everyone back on Sunday if this GA releases:

$67 per person for 11 people + $20 for Gas.
