Ron, not sure why you posted this, but you might touch base with the Facilition Working group or the wider community before stepping up on this. We’ve begun meeting & will meet again saturday. It is the basic practice that members of that group AFTER consensus is reached to post an Assembly. It seems you’ve jumped the community processes with…[Read more]
I’m glad to see this Ron. This has been discussed from time to time in the streets and via email. The time has come IMO. Any rigid resistance by those who want to control other people’s aspirations to peaceably assemble should be tested/confronted. Autonomous actions should be encouraged and be seen as potentially rewarding practices to learn…[Read more]
GREAT INITIATIVE!
OWS has shown itself to be a leaderful movement. Posting this proposed Assembly is a positive thing.
Until, the WGs, Facilitation, Minutes, Tech-ops (Livesteeam), etc step up…anyone can assume a position.
It should be shown that there are those totally devoted to the 99% Collective within OWS.
Solidarity
Fantastic idea, Ron. I’ve been thinking the same thing. That we no longer have GAs has been extremely disturbing and Facilitation seems to have lost much meaning. Besides, why do we need Facilitation, anyway? All that’s done is take the power out of the hands of the rest of us. If this is (still) a horizontal movement, and the first literature…[Read more]
Ron, as you may already be aware of, you do not need permission from any individual or for that matter a group of individuals to initiate a GA. As long as you have respect for the traditions that we have adopted, our documented principles, and you are doing this in good fate, then I see no reason why anyone would have a problem with this.…[Read more]
