Donate Housing

In September, hundreds of people flooded into New York City to Occupy Wall Street. Two months later, Occupiers were evicted from their homes in Liberty Plaza, and while we continue to fight for symbolic spaces, we need to make sure that displaced occupiers have access to shelter. Through partnerships across the city, we have been able to house many members of our movement. We are pursuing various housing options, but the need for space is still urgent. If you can donate housing space, please contact Housing at 646.397.4544 or housing@nycga.net (housing null@null nycga NULL.net).

Host An Occupier

We are currently looking for NYC residents who are interested in opening their homes to Occupiers in need of a break, a warm place to sleep, and a chance to relax. Please click here (http://housing NULL.nycga NULL.net/host-an-occupier/) to learn more.

Donate Meeting Space

In order to govern itself, Occupy Wall Street relies on two types of community meetings: Spokes Council and General Assembly. Currently, we still hold General Assemblies outside in the cold (and sometimes the rain); we pay $450 per week to hold our Spokes Councils in doors. We are always looking for less expensive, high occupancy (200+ persons) spaces in which to hold these meetings. We are also on the look out for smaller spaces for other meetings, trainings, teach-ins, and conferences. If you have such a space, want to help us find one, or want to make donations on our behalf in order to help get us access to spaces, please contact meetingspaces@nycga.net (meetingspaces null@null nycga NULL.net).

Donate Food & Kitchen Space

The People’s Kitchen feeds the OWS community every day in addition to supporting specific actions and events. They need volunteers to make and serve food, materials to make into yummy food, places to cook and trucks to get it where it needs to go. Please contact Joshua (br.joshua.l@gmail.com (br NULL.joshua NULL.l null@null gmail NULL.com)) or Kyle (skywalkerstyle@gmail.com (skywalkerstyle null@null gmail NULL.com))

Donate Wheels

We are urgently looking for a truck and a van to deliver food, clothes, and warm supplies to occupiers after the raid. Contact Zak at operationocc@gmail.com (operationoccupation null@null gmail NULL.com)  if you can help!

This page is a work in progress and seeks to direct donations to our high needs areas. Constructive comments are always welcome and the page will hopefully updated regularly. Please email Ravi at volunteer@nycga.net (volunteer null@null nycga NULL.net).

  5. I don’t get the Order Us Food option. Is this out of date? If not, where would the deliveries go?

  6. I’d like to figure out a way to donate a percentage of the proceeds from digital downloads of the song posted in the “website” portion above, which I just recorded, to OWS? I’m not sure where to begin? I really don’t have time for spam, haters and bullshit but if there is a way I am willing.
    Thanks.

  8. I’m writing to you to suggest the OWS movement should hold a candlelight vigil for the recently slain NYC Police officer. I’m a stay at home dad who is very supportive of the OWS movement and have attended a few events in between raising my daughters.

I believe it would be a class act for the OWS movement to conduct this Candlelight vigil either Friday 12/16 or Saturday 12/17. This could add more people to support OWS and “maybe” reduce the tension between NYPD and the movement. Thank you for all that you are doing.

    • Great idea Larry…I had not heard about this. What exactly happened and when? My hope is that it can happen in the middle of the week when I am not working. I have been to OWS twice and see that this is in keeping with the core values of the occupation. I hope that you get the support necessary for this to become a reality, if you haven’t gotten it already.

  9. I’ve been browsing on-line greater than 3 hours today, yet I by no means found any attention-grabbing article like yours. It is pretty value sufficient for me. In my view, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you probably did, the internet will be a lot more helpful than ever before.

  10. Well done video! I was with you at Foley Square on Nov. 17; have gone to 60 Wall and met with Justin on Nov. 23. Willing to freeze my ass off in the very near future (well the weather has been kind as of late). Good oppurtunity this week to organize something.

  11. I started a petition requesting the California legislature withhold all state funds that are allocated to the rogue law enforcement agencies in California that abused and attacked peaceful demonstrators. The only way to prevent the militarization of the police is to deny the huge funds that are spent without public and constitutional policing accountability. I support police officers but that support is not blind and expects adherence to their sworn duty to uphold the Constitution.

    • There is no way the funding can be cut off that way, sadly. Right now Oakland is instituting massive lay-offs among public employees (possibly in retaliation for the union’s solidarity), Despite a crippling shortfall in revenue, there are NO layoffs planned for the police.
The only law the OPD prioritizes is property law. The department is under fire from the courts for failing year after year to comply with a consent decree dating from a 2003 civil rights / corruption case. The judge has been promising a federal take-over to step in and carry out the compliance. Will federal receivership be any better? Hope springs eternal, but the taste seems less sweet after each betrayal and disappointment from the reformists in the movement.

  12. I live in Czech Republic and I want to thank you, because of your heroism, actions and because you are great prove we (99.9% of powerless peoples) are still here and still want fight for our rights and prosperity. Thank you, friends:o)

  13. you ows folks are the greatest !

i like what you have done, are doing and still may yet get done.

but it seems to me WE need to focus on getting a “CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION ” Convened so that we can lawfully have the most corrupted part of our national government – the u s senate- ABOLISHED and all its vested power returned to the one legislative branch that honestly and proportional represents the will of ALL the american people.

the only way to LAWFULLY abolish the u s senate is to do it via a majority vote of the american people during a ( web based) CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION.

i will be working for this goal and please know each and every one of you dear peaceful bravest warriors of non-violence that i have ever know of will be in my prays and thought ever remaining hour of my life until we make this world as peaceful. as good and as love centered as it can be/ as it was created to be.

  14. I wasn’t sure where to turn to but who do i contact to try to setup a contribution from proceeds from a startup clothing company? One of my partners is one of the top designers at Ecko Inc and we believe in this cause so much that we decided to make our first t-shirt to support OWS. This isn’t your typical OWS shirt and we have this sick symbolizm that my partner created that perfectly fits what we’re fighting for. This is 100% made in brooklyn and nothing overseas including the t-shirt itself. The reason we did this was to try to make OWS more than a movement and believe me, regardless if you support the cause or not, this t-shirt is a coversation starter whereever you go. This will spread the word. These t-shirts are designed that you would be proud to wear in a club. A fashion statement. I wanted to take the proceeds minus my costs and donate to OWS but not sure who to even contact to start the convo. Can someone please lead me in the right direction? thanks! and anyone that wants to see pics of the shirts made I’ll be happy to email them to you or email our website (i’d put it up now but not sure what the rules are about outside links)
