Dear MWG,
Funny how we’ve had so much conversation about grounding in our meetings and we don’t even have a thread on the forum for it.
I wanted to send along a note that I received from Rick Heller, who is involved with Occupy Boston. He asked for some help in developing something to bring mindfulness and loving-kindness to groups up his way. I told him we’re working on some videos and we’d be in touch soon. Thought it would be good encouragement to continue developing the videos.
Best,
P
From Rick Heller:
“I participate in the Occupy Boston Faith & Spirituality working group, a continuation of the activities of the spirituality tent at Occupy Boston. We’re reaching out to groups in other communities to learn what they are doing. Right now, I would describe our status as “struggling for continuity.”
I subscribe to the ID podcast, so I have heard some of the discussions on Occupy involving Ethan and others. Do you have any ongoing or upcoming activities that we could either participate in or reproduce here in Boston?
I also facilitate a secular mindfulness group sponsored by the Harvard Humanist Chaplaincy. The chaplaincy also provide meeting space for a Wake-up Sangha associated with the Blue Cliff Monastery. The chaplaincy regularly sponsors community service projects, and I’d like to figure out a way to meld mindfulness and loving-kindness practices with community service projects. Any suggestions you might have would be most appreciated.
Sincerely,
Rick Heller”
