    the design meeting for tomorrow is cancelled.

    i have also removed the design request form from our page. i’m really disappointed to do this, but due to a decrease in member participation it was necessary.

    i don’t know what the future of the design group is.

    pay no attention to my flustery tone of last weekend. i was a bit burnt out and had a minor melt down. the design group has a future, we just have to figure out what it is. i think the request form may stay off for a little bit, as we’re pretty short-staffed right now, but anyone can still get in touch with us at design@nycga.net. we’ll try to handle what we can, but it may not be everything.

    also, i think we sorta kinda are a subgroup of a&c (that’s how we started), but we also have a specific set of skills and goals, so we’ve stayed a bit autonomous. but maybe design needs to prioritize creating better bonds with other groups right now, a&c included.

    maybe we all need to prioritize that right now. i see so much gosh darn negativity on this site lately. i hope we can focus LESS on singling out the “disruptor” people and maybe seek out and make some new friends or stronger bonds with the awesome, smart, dedicated people who are still here in the midst of winter. i know there are still some of those here.

    Hello. Went to B&B today but didn’t see anyone else. Let me know how I can help! I do small d design (no illustrations beyond tracing), but am fluent in Adobe CS and ArcGIS (data maps), and do plenty of information design.

    @bushwickbill so sorry you missed us! we cancelled again but failed to post that info on this site, so i really apologize for that.

    we’ve had a hard time finding more than 2 or 3 people willing to make it to a meeting lately, which is why we’ve been cancelling. right now i think the plan is to meet next sunday and talk about where we think the group is going, do we need to rethink our mission, how can we function. the system and infrastructure we have set up for the design group is great, but can’t really work if we only have about 3 people constantly participating, so i think it’s time for us to reassess.
