Present: Bram, Susan, Owen, Marco.
Bram asks about Spokes Council.
Susan describes Spokes Council as she understands it.
Marco suggests making a video of the Declaration in ASL.
Bram explains how ASL makes information accessible for some with hearing loss, while captioning makes it accessible for others, and that there’s a bit of an overlap between the two groups. This means that for those for whom ASL is their first language, captioning might not suffice to make information accessible.
The rest of the meeting is spent on emending the group’s self-definition to add more ASL content.
The meeting ends with Owen agreeing to attend Spokes Council on Monday 1/2.
