Does the Occupy movement need to be a political party? The answer is still unclear. While there are things that the Occupy movement can do to affect change without electing representatives or changing laws, it sure would be nice to Occupy Congress. Occupy will definitely be a factor in upcoming elections. But if its convictions are to become reality, participating directly in the political process may yield the best results. Work to change laws that give Democrats or Republicans unfair advantages, or beat them anyway. Back candidates that vow to further the Occupy agenda. To fix a broken government will almost assuredly require becoming a part of it.
