The Disability Caucus is planning an action to take place at Bloomberg’s Gracie Mansion. The action is designed to confront Bloomberg’s lack of action on disability issues. The action will be on Aug 8 at 5pm. The Caucus says that Bloomberg can’t buy the community of disabled folks with hamburgers. This action will take place on the anniversary of the ADA law being passed.

The People’s Library has lost its space at Carmine. They have space now at Governor’s Island, Paul R Freedom School, as well as mobile library at Occupy Trinity (outside Trinity Wall Street). Yesterday, the nypd took all the books at the People’s Library at Occupy Trinity (over 100 books) and are now storing them at the 1st precinct. The nypd cited 161 22 section B, a sanitation code (a code that refers to abandoned vehicles) to justify seizing the books.

>

The first Cafe de Cleyre took place yesterday (Tuesday) and was a success. There will be one next week, location TBA, at 6pm, where folks will meet to talk about radical literature related to direct action as well as watch radical videos.

>

Trinity is still being occupied (outside). The nypd white shirts come out in the middle of the night when nobody is around to see them suppress protesters. There is a People’s Library. The Occupy Trinity folks need blankets, food and live streamers/tweeters at all times, especially over night when the police come in to harass protesters. Alternate occupation locations are being scouted. If you have flyers for actions or events, drop them off and they will be passed out. Great outreach.

The Emma Goldman memorial Popular Assembly will be safe, green space on Black Monday (September 17) at 6pm at 55 Water Street. This will be an assembly where everybody will be able to talk to each other about next steps. This assembly will not be a reoccupation effort, but rather a space for the community to talk to each other.

>

The Black Monday (September 17) planning meetings are continuing each monday at 6p at 220 e 23rd street. Some of the actions talked about are the People’s Pickets around Wall St, various blockades around the city, street discussions. Need help with support groups like kitchen, housing. There is talk to possible convergences at spaces around Bryant Park.

>

There is talk of starting a smear campaign against Rector Cooper of Trinity Wall Street. The church is nothing more than a real estate corporation. Half the vestry has already resigned over him. There is a lot of mismanagement of funds. Soon folks will be handing out flyers with info on all of Trinity’s and the Rector’s greed. Getting rid of the Rector will be a win for OWS. There will be a planning meeting announced soon on ComHub.
