Back in summer, OSP member and longtime community organizer Dennis Flores was arrested for defending one of the Rent Strikers against an attack by the slumlord Orazio’s hired goon. Hard to believe, but he’s actually being taken to trial on utterly ridiculous charges. Show brother Dennis your support! Turn out for a rally the morning of his trial!

Details are still sketchy, but our compaƱero Dennis Flores’ trial Thursday morning has been cancelled!

It seems the DA can’t quite decide whether a crime was committed in the Rent Strike buildings last summer, and can’t quite decide who committed it. After suggesting earlier this week that the slumlord’s thug might be let off the hook but Dennis pursued anyway, it now seems like they want to talk to the involved parties a bit more before deciding what to do. We in Occupy Sunset Park know what the real story is here, and we say DROP ALL CHARGES AGAINST DENNIS FLORES!

For now this looks like at least a temporary victory. But meanwhile, there’s no court appearance Thursday to protest, and so our mobilization in front of Criminal Court Thursday AM is CANCELLED! Thanks to eveybody who planned to come out. Stay tuned for further details!
