The Transit Justice Rally is about the right of every New Yorker to safe, affordable, reliable, and accessible public transportation. Public transportation is not only the backbone of our City, it is a basic civil right.
The MTA’s 2010 service cuts in working class communities have been particularly harsh, disproportionately impacting the elderly, disabled, families, youth, and persons with chronic illnesses.
We deserve better; it is our RIGHT.
In 1955, Rosa Parks inspired the civil rights movement by standing up for her right to public transportation, so on July 24th, we will bring the fight for Transit Justice to MTA Headquarters. Please join us!
