The NYC Anarchist Book Fair Collective ANNOUNCES
The 7th ANNUAL NYC ANARCHIST BOOK FAIR
Saturday, April 6 and Sunday April 7, 2013 at
Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center
107 Suffolk Street bet. Rivington and Delancey

This year’s book fair moves from the genteel West Village to the rough-and-tumble Lower East Side, the real historic hub of dissident squatter and anarchist culture, where we’ll reconnect with other LES organizations in a nucleus of uprising, conspiracy, and mutual confabulation bringing together for the general public two days of books and book reading, lectures, workshops, pamphlets, broadsides, zines, films, demos, skill shares, and much much more. (There will be weekly updates as events, presses, and speakers sign on.) In addition to being hosted by the Clemente Soto Velez Cultural Center, a dynamic multicultural center on Rivington Street, the book fair will co-sponsor events at Bluestockings, ABC No Rio, Living Theater, Think Cafe, MoRUS (Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space), and at neighborhood gardens — most within walking distance.

In previous years, publishers have included AK, Fifth Estate, PM, Semiotext, WW3, Crimethinc, Black Cat, IWW, Institute for Anarchist Studies, Earth Journal, Native Resistance, OWS, Red Emma’s, Seven Stories, Bread & Puppet Press, Books Through Bars, Black Cross Federation, Charles Kerr, Combustion Books, Earth First! Journal, etc.
Panels, workshops, lectures have focused on a range of topics, from  Anarchism and Intersectionality; Community-based Exchange: Mutual Aid Models with Rock Dove Collective; Radical Parenting, Sex, Sobriety, and More; Greece 2008; Hacking Your Library to the ABCs of Squatting; Defending Our Land, Air, and Water; The Politics of Disaster; Anarchist People of Color; Another Year of the Economic Crisis; and more!

Films and art events have included: An Anarchist Art Festival, in collaboration with Judith Malina and the Living Theater, and including performances, music, installations, video art, dance, sculpture, drawing, experimentation, and collaboration.
