On Monday evening’s S17 meeting, we looked at a draft of the S17 call to action: http://tradejustice.net/draftcall. Since then people have been reading and considering it with the goal of completing a revised version on tonight’s conference call. If you’d like to help improve the S17 call to action, please join us! The current document is primarily focused on reaching out to:
- organizations we want to endorse S17 and get involved in S17 organizing
- Occupy groups in other cities and other groups who we hope to inspire to take action on S17
- allies in other countries who we we intend to encourage to take action in order to make S17 into a global day of solidarity.
We wil also be developing a second document with a greater focus on NYC-specific issues (including Stop and Frisk, the police murder of Ramarley Graham and Kimani Gray, and justice for NYC immigrant workers at Golden Farms and other businesses) along with the national and global themes we will also be addressing that day.
