April 13th, 2014. We are thrilled to announce that Larry Doyle – a Wall Street veteran and an author of In Bed with Wall Street – will join us. Larry Doyle has worked on and around Wall Street for the last 30 years. From First Boston to Bear Stearns and ultimately JP Morgan Chase, Doyle engaged in the trading, selling, and managing of a wide spectrum of mortgage-related assets. He now manages his own investment advisory practice in Connecticut, and writes extensively on the markets, economy, Wall Street, and Washington at his blog Sense on Cents. See on Bloomberg’s Talking Stock Larry Doyle’s take on the recent guilty verdict handed down in the Madoff employees case, corruption within the financial-political-regulatory system and recent developments within the executive offices at JP Morgan (updated March 26, 2014).
Whenever we can, we schedule great presentations and discussions lead by guest speakers on topics related (and not so related) to our core financial areas of focus. The book club / guest speaker forum will meet from 2-3 pm on Sundays before the regular Alternative Banking meeting from 3-5 pm, in Room 409 of the International Affairs Building of Columbia University at Amsterdam and 118th.
