The Occupy Media Working Group meets again! For too long we have allowed ourselves to remain dispersed, evicted from the park, kicked out of our office space, disorganized and kept from organizing by an ethos of individualist autonomy. We have wasted too much time and effort on unfinished or underpublicized projects. We need to coordinate our efforts so they build on one another. The tasks of covering news, contextualizing events, and publicizing our media need to be organized as efficiently as they are within the commercial media if we are to be an effective alternative.
This meeting is to collectively plan a working structure so that every participant knows exactly what role they can best play in a massive collective effort employing all media, including livestreaming, photography, video, blogging, radio, TV, social media and our own Web sites. If we succeed, we will emerge from this meeting having made commitments of time and effort to each other; please be prepared for this.
This will be a structured presentation and moderated discussion concerning strictly practical, strategic matters. We will not waste time doing round-robin reportbacks of our individual projects or saying what animal we feel like today. This is not a game.
