Les Leopold : Alt-Banking Speaker Series

May 4th, 2014. Please join us to welcome Les Leopold who co-founded and currently directs two non-profit educational organizations: The Labor Institute (1976) and the Public Health Institute (1986). He designs research and educational programs on occupational safety and health, the environment and economics. He also serves as a strategic consultant to the Blue-Green Alliance, which brings together trade unions and environmental organizations. Leopold is the author of How to Make a Million Dollars an Hour: Why Financial Elites Get Away with Siphoning off America’s Wealth (John Wiley and Sons, 2013), The Looting of America: How Wall Street’s Game of Fantasy Finance destroyed our Jobs, Pensions and Prosperity, and What We Can Do About It and The Man Who Hating Work and Loved Labor: The Life and Times of Tony Mazzocchi.

Whenever we can, we schedule great presentations and discussions lead by guest speakers on topics related (and not so related) to our core financial areas of focus. The book club / guest speaker forum will meet from 2-3 pm on Sundays before the regular Alternative Banking meeting from 3-5 pm, in Room 409 of the International Affairs Building of Columbia University at Amsterdam and 118th.

You can see the entire updated schedule here: Alt-Banking Web Site
