International Working Women's Day Rally & March 2014

On the 104th Anniversary of International Working Women’s Day (IWWD) we will be having a WORKING WOMEN’S ASSEMBLY & MARCH on MARCH 8th, 2014.

When: MARCH 8th, 2014
Time:

12 NOON: SPEAK OUT/RALLY @ TRIANGLE SHIRTWAIST FIRE FACTORY MEMORIAL.

1PM: MARCH (Route TBA)

2PM-5PM: IWWD CELEBRATION with Hot Food, Music, and Social. Everyone welcomed! 147 West 24th St. 2nd Floor

We are Calling for Contingents and Endorsements for this year’s International Working Women’s Day 2014! This year we are calling groups and our allies to organize contingents and endorse. If your organization agrees with at least one of the 10 point program below and agrees to help with outreach please contact our coordinators below.

The “Can We Live?” Campaign is a struggle-oriented program to bring together and to organize initiatives on economic and political issues, not just during March – International Working Women Month – but year round. Its 10-point program includes:

  1. Healthy food
  2. Jobs, Not Jails—Union rights; defend public workers; a livable wage and/or income; social security; end anti-discrimination based on age, nationality, disability; pay equity
  3. Healthcare for All– Reproductive justice, hands off Medicare and Medicaid
  4. Free Quality Education from the Cradle to the Grave
  5. Housing is a Human Right—No foreclosures & evictions, no utility shut-offs, end homelessness
  6. Clean Environment
  7. Legalization, not Deportation—Unite families, End ICE raids
  8. End Domestic and State Violence Against Women—Stop sexual exploitation, trafficking & police brutality, restore safe houses
  9. Oppose Imperialist War—Stop ALL violence against women in the military and in occupied lands, Bring the troops home
  10. Full rights for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer People
  11. Legalization, not Deportation—Unite families, End ICE raids
  12. End Domestic and State Violence Against Women—Stop sexual exploitation , trafficking & police brutality, restore safe houses
  13. Oppose Imperialist War—Stop ALL violence against women in the military and in occupied lands, Bring the troops home
