The Hot and Crusty Workers Association, Laundry Workers Center and the Hot and Crusty Solidarity Committee invite you to a rally in solidarity with workers

After several weeks of negotiations with the potential new investors of the store, our resolve is being tested once again, this time with the prospect of a new lease being held over the workers heads. In the 11th hour of negotiations, members of the Hot and Crusty Workers Association are being asked to make significant and unacceptable concessions, including removing the hiring hall and imposing unilateral management control over the workplace. In addition, and in direct response to the efficacy of our very public actions against the Hot and Crusty brand, we are being asked to cease and desist ALL actions at other Hot and Crusty and European store locations. To add insult to injury, the Hot & Crusty workers are being asked to sign an incredibly pro-management collective bargaining agreement, and the threat is loud clear –“take it or leave it”.

While everyone is understandably eager to get back to work, the workers refuse to be strong-armed by these new investors. Despite holding the picket line for over 44 days without a strike fund or any source of financial support, the Hot & Crusty worker’s resolve is stronger than ever. They are committed to returning to work under a dignified contract, with a promise that management will honor the agreement they signed off on, with both the workers and community as witness.

The struggle continues!

The Hot & Crusty workers need your support more than ever. Please join us and show management that community presence and participation is still strong and we are watching! As the picket line has thinned over the last few weeks, the new investors are banking on community support waning and the worker’s financial limitations forcing them into an agreement. They are testing us, and it is more important now than ever before that we show them we mean business!
