Students, youth, and allies have organized an Edu-Festival as part of the International Student Movement’s call for a global day of action. It will be a collaborative, celebratory space for developing strategy and sharing about the organizing already underway in New York and across the globe.
Bankers and business men have teamed up with politicians and the administrations of our schools to structure the education system in a way that makes them more wealthy and us suffer a lifetime of debt. We cannot remain complacent as our campuses are privatized, securitized, and we are stripped of our fundamental right to be educated. We cannot stay calm as the economy collapses around us and we have no jobs, fewer homes, and more expensive food. We cannot ignore the history left out of social studies, or the lack of funding/support for arts and important classes that acknowledge our past and our present struggles. We must reclaim the education system and protect our futures.
This Edu-Festival is a part of the International Student Movement’s call for a global day of action to Reclaim Education – Direct Democracy Now! The Edu-Festival will be a collaborative, celebratory space for developing strategy and sharing about the organizing already underway in New York and across the globe.
Our movements differ but intersect in numerous ways. We are #allinthered. We are #1world1struggle. #HereUsNow
Food and drinks will be served. This is a FREE event!
