Financial Firms & Economic Crisis

On February 26, Greg Smith, former Vice President at Goldman Sachs and author of “Why I Left Goldman Sachs”, will discuss how banks behave behind the scenes and how those practices differ from the perception they convey to the public.

Smith’s controversial New York Times op-ed, which announced his resignation to the world after 12 years at the investment bank, publicly criticized the firm’s business culture and risky investments. His lecture will be followed by a panel discussion with Marianne LeNabat, a New School student active in the Occupy Wall Street movement, and Jeff Madrick, author and financial journalist, who is a Senior Fellow with SCEPA.
