This is a call to all Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapters and members, and any other activist, organizer, faculty or person interested in growing the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement against Israel.
Join us this coming Friday, April 25th from 6:00-8:00 pm at NYU Kimmel Center, 60 Washington Square South, Room 803, in order to:
(a) work on a strategy for our solidarity movement citywide,
(b) explore launching divestment campaigns on our campuses, and
(c) brainstorm direct actions as a tactic of escalation and leverage.
Elias Khoury, a good friend of TIDAL, the editor of the Journal of Palestine Studies and author of the novel Gate of the Sun, will join us in our discussions as we chart a path forward together.
Our meeting is scheduled to coincide with the informal pre-release of TIDAL’s pamphlet, entitled Palestine, Boycott, Beyond, a call. Copies of the Pamphlet will be given out to attendees. Our conversations will be worked into the final version of the Pamphlet as voices from on the ground. The Pamphlet itself is designed for the organizers and activists as well as ordinary folks. It is a crack in capitalism, an educational tool, a conversation starter, a visual space occupier, and a form of direct action. We look forward to jamming.
