Green Worker Cooperatives with Omar Freilla: An Alt-Banking Speaker Series

We are excited to announce that Omar Freilla – a founder of Green Worker Cooperatives – will join us for the Speaker Series. He will share his experience of organizing for social justice and challenging environmental racism. He is a board member of the Democracy At Work Institute, and advisor for the Story of Stuff Project. He co-curated the New York City portion of the BMW Guggenheim Lab, a project of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. His writings have appeared in numerous books, blogs, and articles and he has been featured in several documentaries, including Leonardo DiCaprio’s environmental documentary “The 11th Hour”

Whenever we can, we schedule great presentations and discussions lead by guest speakers on topics related (and not so related) to our core financial areas of focus.

The book club / guest speaker forum will meet from 2-3 pm on Sundays before the regular Alternative Banking meeting from 3-5 pm, in Room 409 of the International Affairs Building of Columbia University at Amsterdam and 118th.

You can see the entire updated schedule here: Alt-Banking Web Site
