– Announcements

*There will be a community meeting Thursday (1/18/2012) 9:30 pm at Park Slope Methodist Church

*There will be a meeting this Friday (1/19/2012) 6:00 pm at 60 Wall Street to plan Occupy Town Square.  This will be a roving occupation and the first event will be a tabling event in Washington Square Park on January 29th 2012 and will consist of a space for all of the working groups to meet and exchange information.

* will be having weekly meetings at 60 Wall Street Mondays alternating between 5pm and 7pm in order to curate content.  The next meeting will be Monday (1/23/2012) at 7pm.

*Structure working group is working on our structure as a movement. Fewer meetings with better attendance? How do we formulate a budget? The next meeting will be this Friday (1/20/2012) 5:30 pm at 60 Wall Street

*Funds Freezing Working Group is having a meeting on Saturday (1/21/2012) 6pm at 60 Wall Street to talk about formulating a budget.

*Our friends at Yippee Café (9 Bleecker) is having an open mic for OWS Wednesday (1/18/2012) 8pm for all musicians, poets, performance artists and comedians.  All are welcome! No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

*A million people/ websites are going dark on Wednesday (1/18/2012) to protest SOPA and PIPA.  Make sure you explain why you take your site offline if you go dark.

*To protest drone strikes and to protest support for brutal dictatorships Jon will be starting a hunger strike at the Armed Forces Recruitment in times square at 8am Wednesday (1/18/2012)

– Agenda

1. Visions and Goals: A 10 minute breakout session to discuss the Visions and Goals statement.  After the removal of “truly” from the introduction and the reorganization of the bullet points. the General Assembly consented to post the statement online and publicize it within the movement as much as possible for the next week. Following this week the statement will return to the General Assembly to move through the consensus process. RESULT: Consensus

2. Endorsement request for a Call for Action for Occupy Earth Day Global Month of Action. Two specific dates given: March 23rd- Disrupt the business of pollution. March 24th- Rally for the 100% – Countdown to Occupy Earth Day. RESULT: Consensus
