Extension Denied

Posted by & filed under News.

The petition to extend the restraining order has been denied.

“The movants have not demonstrated that they have a First Amendment right to remain in Zuccotti Park, along with their tents, structures, generators, and other installations to the exclusion ofthe owner’s reasonable rights and duties to maintain Zuccotti Park, or to the rights to public access of others who might wish to use the space safely. Neither have the applicants shown a right to a temporary restraining order that would restrict the City’s enforcement of law so as to promote public health and safety.”

I can only LOL at the “reason” for denying the extension… Is it not reason enough to see how these bankers are robbing non-stop? is it not reason enough to see how these big corporations get away with everything? Thomas Jefferson was right all along…. the government sides with the big corps, violating the first amendment.

You are violating my 1st amendment rights by foroefully occupying public land that I’d like to use as well. Your rights are NOT being denied. You have no right to forcefully take a park and not allow other citizens to use it. Carry in – carry out.

        Tony,

Have you tried to use the park since the occupation began? It is my understanding that the movement is inclusive of all peoples regardless of race, color, religion or values etc… Please support your statement with facts IE videos of you trying to use the park and someone denying the use of the park….
Maybe you tried to use the park while the NYPD was occupying it and that’s why you couldn’t get in…

        Thanks and Love,

        E.

what happened with occupy central park ?? it is big and you can even grow food if necessary! it doesn’t matter where you are at this point as long as you still can find a space to grow and to be visible.
